Sacristan Corp

consists of 16 couples that assist with the preparation of the church services, including Communion, Baptism, and Lovefeasts.  They are also responsible for the setting up of the seasonal  decorations in the church.  All couples are approved by the Board of Elders and elected by  Church Council in January of each year.  If you would like to serve as Sacristan, please notify the church office to have your name submitted for consideration.

Allentown Ecumenical Food Bank

Second Harvest is once again helping to supply our Food Bank with food.  Money is always appreciated and is used to purchase needed items.

Ruth Dries is looking for volunteers.  Our day to cover the Food Bank is the fourth Thursday of each month.  (November and December are the exception because of the holidays.)  This is a good opportunity for retirees.

Miller Blood Bank

Our church has a goal of 25 pints per calendar year.   The need for blood is one that never ends and is truly a gift to those that receive it.  Please call Miller Memorial Blood center to schedule an appointment and please indicate that you are giving for the Emmaus Moravian Church.  Miller Memorial Blood Bank has two locations.  One in Bethlehem and one on Cedar Crest Blvd across from Lehigh Valley Hospital.  Phone: 610-691-5850 to make an appointment to give blood.

Miller also offers an opportunity for volunteers with flexible hours in two areas:  1) Donor aids are needed to assist the Registered Nurses in drawing blood; 2) Canteen Host or Hostess provide a beverage and cookies to the donors after they have completed donating.  Phone: 610-691-5850 for more information on volunteer opportunities.
